Explore the Canadian Galapagos

Sail aboard MV Swell which  is an upscale tugboat that has been newly converted or SV Maple Leaf which is a classic schooner operated by Maple Leaf Adventures a Canadian small ship expedition that is searching for the “Canadian Galapagos” at Haida Gwaii. Located to the west at 90 miles of the mainland of the British Columbia, this archipelago is remote and has 138 islets and islands all accessible by only water (because there are no roads) unfolding along the continental shelf, and arrives in a richness of wilderness comprising of temperate rainforests that are ancient, wildlife including seabirds and humpback whales, and cultural history with cultural monuments and indigenous Haida villages. The voyages of eight nights are intimate here and can accommodate not more than 10 guests. An expert gourmet chef and naturalist helm them. Far-flung island like Gandll K’in Gwaay.yaay and SGAng Gwaay are explored by them along the way, with excursions comprising of wildlife viewing, hiking, and so on. Rates per person start at $3,890 and comprise of excursions which are guided; May through July are when the trips run.
