An announcement has been made by Carnival that it is to commence a test of a service menu of 24 hours on board several of its ship. However a fee would go with premium service.

Critic reported that the decision is being made just a couple of days after
Norwegian a rival cruise line
announced that a service charge was going to be added to orders for room
service.
Featuring on the menu would be a range that is diverse of
items comprising customizable pizzas, quesadillas, fried shrimp, chicken wings,
and sushi, which would range between $4 and $7. The hope of Carnival is to
provide more choices and better quality for cruises when it has to do with
dining on ships. Vance Gulliksen the spokesman for Carnival stated that around the
clock free selections are still going to be available and comprise of breakfast
and desserts pastries, salads, and cold and hot sandwiches.
Although some cruisers appear happy with the addition of
menu items of better quality even though additional costs would be paid other
fans of cruises are upset that cruise lines are having new fees tacked on which
should be added within the general cruise ticket costs.
On the message board
for Carnival, a user v3cruiser stated that it was going to be a shame if
cruise lines began to charge for items on room service. He was alright with
having hot items paid for. Most of the food was what they could get from lido
when it was open so it appeared like they were being charged for a thing that
they already paid for in their cruise fair.
On April 12 the new menu would be rolled out on three ships
of Carnival, namely Pride, Conquest,
and the Imagination. Feedback from
customers would guide the cruise line in the determination of whether or not
the pay – per things would in the future be rolled out to other ships.
